The Space Is Cramped And Its No One’s Fault

For this body of work, I am confronting the space my family has inhabited for the past twenty-plus years. Discomfort is at the forefront of the work as I use photographs of the space and edit myself into these various locations. Use both lighting and color to create an atmosphere in which the viewer can experience a location for the first time, or in multiple ways as I have come to see them. I am creating surreal self-portraits that show how this space has left impressions greater than being just a home. From its messy corners, and rusted cabinets, to its renovated walls, this space is where I feel most comfortable and at times the most lost and unease. In our home The Space Is Cramped and It’s No One's Fault.
